Was genau geschah, erfahrt ihr hier:

80 years ago today the first #nuclear detonation on Earth happened—the Trinity shot in New Mexico.

Like all atmospheric nuclear detonations since then, it spread radioactive fallout over a wide area downwind from the explosion, creating a long-term health hazard for humans and other living beings. Here is a graphic of spread of the fallout cloud from #Trinity:

Vor 80 Jahren wurde der #Trinity-Test durchgeführt, die erste Explosion einer Nuklearwaffe jemals. Ein Team rund um Robert Oppenheimer entwickelte die Bombe, um durch den militärischen Einsatz den zweiten Weltkrieg zu beenden. Wochen nach dem Test wurde deshalb die zweite und dritte Atombombe über #Hiroshima und #Nagasaki abgeworfen. Sie töteten über 100.000 Menschen.

Doch was genau geschah am 16. Juli 1945 in der Wüste von New Mexico? Die Antwort gibt's hier:

"The dedication of a permanent sign that recognizes the sacrifice and suffering of the Downwinders of New Mexico will take place at 11 a.m. on July 16 at the Stallion Gate Entrance off of Highway 380 east of San Antonio, followed by Mass, a dinner reception and a candlelight vigil in Tularosa."

"The people of New Mexico have now been added to the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act."

"The second event is the 46th anniversary of the Church Rock Uranium Tailings Spill on July 16th, 1979 on the Navajo Nation. The Red Water Pond Road Community invites you to attend a historic commemoration on Saturday, July 19th from 6 am to 4 pm, 12 miles north of Red Rock State Park on State Highway 566. Breakfast and lunch will be provided under a shaded arbor."

El Defensor ChieftainDownwinders to be acknowledged at Trinity test site dedicationAfter decades of struggle and lives lost to radioactive fallout from the July 16, 1945, Trinity test in the Tularosa Basin, the impacted residents are finally receiving recognition.

From time to time, we have experienced instances of #TDE kdesktop (and possibly other apps too) going crazy and using 100% of CPU time.
While the specific trigger condition in kdesktop hasn't been fixed yet (will be soon though 🙂), we have worked on the event handling code in TQt to prevent multi eventloop applications from running away with 100% CPU usage.
More info at mirror.git.trinitydesktop.org/ and mirror.git.trinitydesktop.org/.

Updated PSB/PTB packages will soon be available on the #Trinity mirrors.

TDE Gitea Workspacekdesktop using 100% CPU when stuck after unlock+desktop changeThis is a side issue discovered while working on PR #531 and PR #589. Steps to reproduce the issue: 1. activate the screensaver or lock screen 2. unlock the screen and quickly request to change desktop. Not always but ofter, kdesktop+kdesktop_lock run into a deadlock situation (see [this commnet](https://mirror.git.trinitydesktop.org/gitea/gitea/TDE/tdebase/pulls/589#issuecomment-71817)) Attaching `kdesktop` with `gdb` shows that the second thread is in a infinite loop inside `TQEventLoop::processEvents( ProcessEventsFlags flags )` and apparently there is no waiting. Initial investigation shows that `g_main_context_iteration()` always return `TRUE`, so there are events being generated all the time. Prior to fixing PR #589, we should fix this issue, since `digikam` seems to have a similar problem when trying to open an image.
Christian religion is not the same as the gospel of God.

“the head of Christ is God.”

(1 Corinthians 11:3)

not so in Christianity:

“And in this Trinity none is afore or after another; none is greater or less than another. But the whole three persons are coeternal, and coequal.”

(Athanasian creed)

there is no Trinity in the gospel of God.

how do I know?

because it is written:

"since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith." (Romans 3:30)

"only one" does not equal three.

This week's Linux and FOSS news:

LINUX NEWS

KDE discontinues Plasma LTS releases, reduces feature update to 2 in a year instead of 3, offers extended bug-fix support period:

(Well done, KDE! In my experience, the biggest issue with Plasma has always been the amount of annoying bugs and crashes, which kind of negated the experience for me, despite the cool extra features and the extensive customization options. However, this new strategy might pay off in the long term, and make Plasma a more stable experience.)
