why I don't use #HBO #MAX and #paramount #plus and #AppleTV and just stick to #netflix and only use #crunchyroll once in awhile

HBO Paramount Apple TV Prime nothing to watch

Crunchyroll has issues with saying DUB but then half way into the session bam no English and my attention span to subtitles is bad as I get older not like when I was a kid and teen loved subtitles

Netflix sure nothing to watch but can find something to settle on but to have issues show no dub no English ugh

You can tell people to "just teach kids how to torrent" or suggest piracy, but anime being easily accessible is a HUGE deal. Remember how pumped folks were when Girls Band Cry was available to stream on Hoopla?

All this does is isolate anime fans not just from the shows they love, but from libraries and their other programs, which have been shown to massively help our communities. If these folks are located in areas with spotty internet? They'll likely just stop being fans altogether.

So fuck Sony/Crunchyroll for investing in NFT and AI bullshit over libraries!

After dimly recalling some transforming robots from a cartoon in my childhood, I tracked them down to the #Robotech #cartoon series ( themoviedb.org/tv/2192-robotech )

I've been watching it on #CrunchyRoll

It hasn't aged too poorly considering it first aired in the 1980s: no obvious sexism or racism, and there's even a cross-dressing man in the later episodes

I didn't remember any of the story, so I was surprised to find that it's just slightly more complex than I expected, albeit delivered with pacing that feels quite slow/awkward by today's standards
