I rarely shoot in my #Poconos studio, but I have two portrait sessions this weekend. One of them (pictured) is for 8 hours to build eight distinct stages of a "Phoenix Rising" transformation for a local singer. Blog worthy. Another—for an inspiring local #model.

Snow is coming down thick and swift here! Good day to not be out on the roads!

Last time I "hung out" in a bar was when I was stationed in Seoul, Korea (2003/2004). Decided to get dinner at the local VFW this evening, and enjoy a couple beers after. Interesting experience (to me). See next in thread for my observations.

Reached our local towing company (guy), and scheduled a jump or tow tomorrow morning for Ol' Blue. One way or the other, she'll be at my preferred auto repair shop in plenty of time for Thursday's repair appointment.

PITA. You do not want electrical and starting problems with your vehicle in the middle of the coldest Winter we've had here in years.

Counting down the days left before "Indigo Montoya" (my new 2025 Subaru Forester) is sitting in my driveway (~12).

I sure hope this gets completed as scheduled. I'd happily ride a train to NYC and back.

Oh, yeah. Full on blizzard out there, snow drifting around, no sign of plow trucks at all. I have an order of beef brisket and smoked chicken wings to pick up at a local BBQ place tomorrow. Two days ago, I couldn't get Ol' Blue to start. I'm certain this will all work out just fine.

Thick snow flurries this afternoon, while the sun was still shining. Like driving around inside a snow globe!

Breakfast this morning (at home): pancakes (with real Pennsylvania maple syrup), scrapple, and a fried egg. Just about exactly twice as much as I needed to eat.

Scrapple is pork sausage ground together with corn meal, then formed into small loaves. Thick slices of scrapple are then fried in a pan, before being served.

I like to chill at home.

But Schloß Hessert is chiller than usual this evening. Adding another layer.

(Instead of igniting the gas fireplace I haven't repaired yet. Won't stay lit, because the temperature sensor needs cleaning/replaced.)

Bit unusual: propane delivery in the dark!

I like my gas company: they always ensure my tank's topped up before a cold snap. Much appreciated.

Got out and about midday. It's cold enough that I need to run Ol' Blue more than 1x/week, to keep her battery healthy. We already have a couple inches of snow on the ground, but the roads are clear. Got back home just in time: we're forecast for a few more inches of snow this afternoon, and the heavier snowfall just began.
