Ruth [☕️ 👩🏻‍💻📚✍🏻🧵🪡🍵]<p>Benched 100lbs for 6 reps tonight.</p><p>I don't know if the biggest victory is that the first two moved easy or that I'm learning to ask for help when I need it. I asked a regular to spot me. Even though he never touched the barbell, I could not have gotten that last one up without his encouragement.</p><p><a href="https://glammr.us/tags/powerlifting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>powerlifting</span></a> <a href="https://glammr.us/tags/powerlifter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>powerlifter</span></a></p>
Schiffskatze<p>MhD 2/2025 bzw 3/2025. <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/fitness" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fitness</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/gewichtheben" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gewichtheben</span></a> <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/powerlifting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>powerlifting</span></a> 2/3</p>

13 barn owls in a trenchcoat<p>Hey, strength training friends, I have questions:</p><ol><li>do you do pyramid sets?</li><li>do you have a programme you like for this?</li><li>are they, in your experience, better for hypertrophy than straight sets like 5x5?</li><li>how have you found the strength gainz?</li></ol><p><a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/StrengthTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StrengthTraining</span></a> <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/WeightLifting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>WeightLifting</span></a> <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/PowerLifting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PowerLifting</span></a></p>

Vegan Easy<p>Last month, Sahyuri Lalime (Sahy) from Belgium smashed her first World Record at the European Open Classic Powerlifting Championship in Málaga, Spain! 💪🌱</p><p>She set a new World Record in the Squat for the M1 63kg division with an incredible 182.5kg lift – nearly three times her body weight! 😲🔥</p><p>Even more impressively, Sahy broke 11 records at the competition, including the M1 European record for total across all lifts. Absolute powerhouse!</p><p>A committed vegan for around ten years (and vegetarian for 12 before that), Sahy’s decision to stop eating animals stems from deep compassion:</p><p>“[It is] based purely on not wanting to kill animals. Having experienced the trauma of losing my mother when I was kid, I became very sensitive to death and didn’t want to take part in bringing that type of pain and suffering to others.”</p><p>🌟 Congratulations Sahy on this epic performance – we can't wait to see what you conquer next!</p><p>👉 Learn more: <a href="https://www.greatveganathletes.com/news/world-record-for-vegan-lifter-at-euro-championships/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">greatveganathletes.com/news/wo</span><span class="invisible">rld-record-for-vegan-lifter-at-euro-championships/</span></a> </p><p>Thinking about going vegan? Maaike<p>The heavy lifting (Badum tsss) to get the cup mostly came down to this lift.</p><p>185kg deadlift. </p><p>I fumbled hard on squat, got nowhere near my max (failed on depth 2 out of 3 attempts, sigh). </p><p>Bench was aight, but left a couple of kilo’s on the platform there too. </p><p><a href="https://sw-development-is.social/tags/powerlifting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>powerlifting</span></a></p>

2025 marks my 7th year of consistent strength training.

That doesn’t mean that I’ve been training EFFECTIVELY for all those years. The first 2 years I wasn’t training heavy enough and didn’t really know how getting more muscular “worked”. I did manage to get my first pull-up and get to a 100kg deadlift.

From 2020 onwards, I’ve been coached by good coaches and started adding mass and strength. Went from 62kg bw to 73kg bw and learned what it means to train hard.

Posting a rare video because after not lifting over 200lbs for all of 2024 as I built back from a wrist injury—I tested my deadlift up to 244lbs tonight! (110.5 kilos) that’s a personal record jump of 28lbs, almost 13 kilos🙌🏻 #powerlifting

Holy shit, after today's lifts I just realized I'm only 5 pounds away from the 1000lb club, which I haven't been in for over a decade. I could toss that 5lbs on the squat or dead lift bar and be done with it.

10 years after really f'n my back up doing deadlifts I never thought I'd be back to lifting this heavy (heavy for me anyway) in my mid 40's.

Stats this week:

Squat: 345lbs
Deadlift: 415lbs
Bench: 235lbs

Let's see what coach has programmed for next week.

Did my first #powerlifting meet! I hit all my lift attempts: squat 150 kg (330.75 lbs), bench 105 kg (231.53 lbs), and deadlift 202.5 kg (446.51 lbs). I likely could have pushed a bit more on squat and deadlift but I’m happy with those numbers, but bench was clearly a max. I got first place! I was the only one in my weight class and age division but I’ll take it! Definitely want to do another meet now!
